Facilities

All children will be encouraged to participate in all given activities, both indoors and outdoors. We strongly recommend that suitable outdoor clothes be left in nursery for this purpose (wellies, hat, sun cream/sun hat etc.). We supply wet weather wear to go over your child’s coats and clothes. We strongly recommend that all items of clothing should be clearly labelled with your child’s name.

Playroom 2

All learning is focused on the New Curriculum for Wales through the developmental pathways which include:

Belonging - how children fit into the groups in which they belong, giving them a sense of happiness and well-being to ensure they feel safe and secure within their community, Wales and the wider world.

Communication – giving children the opportunity to understand and make themselves understood by expressing and communicating their needs, thoughts and feelings, through stories, songs, rhymes, mark making. This can be done in a group, on a one-to-one or during their play.

Exploration – developing children’s curiosity through authentic and purposeful learning experiences, developing or gaining new knowledge and skills both indoors and out. Children are given the opportunity to have periods of long uninterrupted play and can revisit activities to embed a new skill.

Physical Development – developing their gross and fine motor manipulation through moving themselves and things, which is often repeated. Movement supports a child’s cognition and learning and enhances a child’s sense of belonging and well-being. It also challenges their risk-taking and builds resilience.

Well-being – children to feel connected, safe and secure enabling them to develop a strong sense of well-being through the influences of adults, experiences and their environment. Children need to have secure attachments and relationships and feel confident in themselves to make choices and become independent.
